Last night, we heard a loud, earth shaking crash while we were cooking up some gulf shrimp and Brussels sprouts for dinner. We went outside to find that a ten foot branch thicker than my leg had crashed down into our porch.

Luckily, it just clipped the porch, crushing only the front board, which isn’t a load bearing board.

I climbed up on the roof this morning to check for holes and found that we got off pretty good, considering the size of the branch and the distance it had to travel to reach our porch. Now, the goal is to get the landlord next door to remove the rest of this tree, since we now have proof that it can still reach our house.
